Lascaux, June 2002
Lascaux is of course the cave famous for its pre-historic paintings. These days one cannot see the original, but instead can tour a replica, Lascaux II. It is near the town of Montignac, on the River Vézère, in the heights above which four local boys found the cave in 1940, looking for their dog.
